The Port of Spain & Environs Educational District Student Council connects student leaders across the district to strengthen representation, leadership development, collaboration and community engagement.
Created to provide a structured district-wide platform for student leaders to share ideas, develop leadership capacity and contribute meaningfully to school and community life.
Bring student perspectives into structured district discussions and strengthen communication between schools, students and educational stakeholders.
Equip young leaders with skills in communication, advocacy, governance, conflict resolution, civic responsibility and project planning.
Create opportunities for schools to work together on leadership forums, service, student engagement and district-wide initiatives.
The Council operates within the Port of Spain & Environs Education District, with guidance and oversight through the Ministry of Education’s district administration. Matters requiring authorisation are routed through the appropriate district and Ministry channels.
Committee leadership will be announced. Members will work through defined portfolios and report progress through the Council’s governance structure.

Students ages 12–20 may apply for General Membership. Schools and eligible tertiary institutions select their official representatives for the Board.
Open to students who meet the membership criteria and are actively involved within their educational institution.
Up to three official representatives may be selected by each participating school or eligible university/tertiary institution.
The Council is not currently government-funded. Membership contributions support approved Council operations and activities.
